AutoIt v3 *********
is a freeware BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a way not possible or reliable with other languages (e.g. VBScript and SendKeys).
AutoIt was initially designed for PC "roll out" situations to configure thousands of PCs, but with the arrival of v3 it is also well suited to performing home automation and the scripting of repetitive tasks.
AutoIt can:
Execute Windows and DOS executables Simulate key strokes (supports most keyboards layouts) Simulate mouse movements and clicks Move, resize and manipulate windows Interact directly with "controls" on a window (set/get text, move, disable, etc.) Work with the clipboard to cut/paste text items Work with the registry Unlike AutoIt v2, the new v3 language has a much more standard syntax -similar to VBScript and BASIC - and now supports complex expressions, user functions, looping and everything else that veteran scripters would expect.
As with previous versions, AutoIt has been designed to be as small as possible (~115KB) and stand-alone with no external .dll files or registry entries required. Scripts can also be compiled into stand-alone executables with Aut2Exe.
There have also been updates to the ActiveX and DLL versions of AutoIt called AutoItX - unlike v2 this will be a combined control (COM and standard DLL functions in the same DLL). AutoItX will allow you to add the unique features of AutoIt to your own favourite scripting or programming languages! See the AutoItX helpfile (Start \ AutoIt v3 \ Extras \ AutoItX \ AutoItX Help File) for more information and examples.

PsTools *******
The Windows NT and Windows 2000 Resource Kits come with a number of command line tools that help you administer your Windows NT/2K systems. Over time, I've grown a collection of similar tools, including some not included in the Resource Kits. What sets these tools apart is that they all allow you to manage remote systems as well as the local one. The first tool in the suite was PsList, a tool that lets you view detailed information about processes, and the suite is continually growing. The "Ps" prefix in PsList relates to the fact that the standard UNIX process listing command-line tool is named "ps", so I've adopted this prefix for all the tools in order to tie them together into a suite of tools named PsTools.
All of the utilities in the PsTools suite work on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and none of the tools requires any special installation. You don't even need to install any client software on the remote computers at which you target them. Run them by typing their name and any command-line options you want. To show complete usage information, specify the "-?" command-line option.
The tools included in the PsTools suite are:
PsExec - execute processes remotely
PsFile - shows files opened remotely
PsGetSid - display the SID of a computer or a user
PsInfo - list information about a system
PsKill - kill processes by name or process ID
PsList - list detailed information about processes
PsLoggedOn - see who's logged on locally and via resource sharing
PsLogList - dump event log records
PsService - view and control services
PsShutdown - shuts down and optionally reboots a computer
PsSuspend - suspend and resume processes

SHUTDOWN CENTRE ***************
Author : Joseph Cox. Website: Forum : Created: Ages ago..
Welcome to Shutdown Centre! This is a simple program that can be called via a script to shutdown a PC. It can also be used with its GUI to provide various shutdown options and also run an external program just before the shutdown procedure finishes. For example, you can call Shutdown Centre in a script so it turns off the PC after the disk defragmenter has finished defragging.
Call the program with the -SHUTDOWN parameter to start the shutdown procedure as soon as it has loaded.
Shutdown Lock v1.2 ******************
Irritated with the fact that some applications just don't go well with Window's Hibernate or Suspend features? The easiest way to fix the problem is to get Shutdown Lock, a program that can hibernate-enable any application, like FlashGet, or AudioGrabber. This tiny utility (only 64 KB) makes it possible for a third party software to force PC into suspension or hibernation, rather than to shut PC down. This is how Shutdown Lock works. The program is loaded upon startup and sits quietly in the system tray. You can enable or disable it with one mouse click. If enabled, the program will either hibernate or suspend PC when a program prompts system shut down. This is a very valuable feature, because it prevents accidental data loss. Shutdown Lock is a great program for folks who have their PCs most of the time and want to make sure that their PC won't be shut down or reloaded accidentally, as it happens quite often with folks who have kids. In addition, Shutdown Lock can be used as a quick alternative way to suspend or hibernate PC without accessing Window's Start menu.
Shutdown Machine 1.1 ********************

Start up the program and select the time you want the computer to turn off. Press "GO!" then minimise the program. You should see it in the system tray. Alternativly you may enter the number of seconds or minutes to shutdown the computer in. You can see if its working because the counter will be ticking down.
NOTE: You need to be a system administrator to be able to shut down the computer in win2k or XP.
NOTE 2: Select "Force Shutdown" if you dont care if programs close without asking you to save the document first. Only use if you know nothing will be lost.
NOTE 3: The Tooltips should tell you most of these things

A very powerful tool to immediate Shutdown or Restart Windows 2000 and XP Operating Systems' based computers (the last chance before the Reset button). shutdown (reg files) ********************
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MERGING REGISTRY (.REG) FILES INTO YOUR WINDOWS REGISTRY
The file you have downloaded, if executed, will modify your Windows Registry. Though I would not have posted this file if I did not believe it safe, it is always prudent to exercise some precautions. (Think of it as "safe sex and the single Registry."
In brief: Never make changes to your Windows Registry without first backing it up. In Windows 95, I recommend backing up using the utility ERU (Emergency Recovery Utility) which is on your Win95 CD. Back up the Registry and other start files to a folder on your hard drive for easy recovery in the event of a problem. In Windows 98, I also recommend using ERU if you have a copy from a Windows 95 CD (ERU isn't on the Win98 CD). Otherwise, Win98 has its own backup utility called ScanReg, which can be run from a Run box (click Start, then Run).
EXPLANATION OF EDITREG.REG
Besides this ReadMe file, there are probably other files in the ZIP or CAB file you have just downloaded. One is the Registry file you requested. The other is a file called EditReg.reg (for Win 9x) or EditReg XP (for Win XP), which I recommend you launch -- but only after you know what it does.
Normally, when you click on a Registry file in Windows, this causes the contents of that file to be merged into (made part of) your Windows Registry. This is how it makes changes to your system. Many of us consider this to be a little risky, for many reasons. For example, someone could give you a file maliciously designed to alter your Registry in a way you don't want; or there could be honest and unintentional problems, errors in the file, a mismatch to your version of Windows, etc. You might want to examine the file before merging it. You might want to download it and run a virus check on it. Things like that.
I have changed my own Windows system so that when I click on a REG file it does *not* merge automatically into the Registry. Instead, it opens the file in Notepad so I can read it (it's really just a text file in a particular format). To merge it into the Registry, I have to right-click on the file's icon and select Merge from the context menu that pops up. I recommend this change for everyone.
But whether to make the change is, of course, your own choice. You may not want the change. Or you may. I recommend it.
This is what EditReg.reg does. An elegant little reg file by DTS MVP Frank Saunders, it changes your Registry so that, in the future, clicking on a Registry file will cause it to open in your default text editor. To merge the Registry file into your Registry, you will need to right-click on it and select Merge.
If you want this feature, click the EditReg.reg icon now. Otherwise, don't.
